Propelling the Book Forward: Vacation Writing Recap

Well, I only have a few days left of my vacation. While that makes me a little sad, I’m genuinely thrilled with the progress I made during this time off! Outside of taking just two personal days to truly rest, I spent about 15+ hours a day working on my book. I reread it multiple times, polished key details, and am now going through everything again to create a clean copy for beta readers. The sheer amount of work I accomplished during this extended break would have easily taken me over two weeks on a regular work schedule. This week really propelled the manuscript forward, and I couldn't be more excited to get it one step closer to publication!

My birthday was just a few days ago on the 26th. While I didn't do anything extravagant—mostly spending the day at home immersed in my writing—I was completely happy, and that made it a great day.

Aside from that quick update, I have two exciting pieces of news to share:

First, I pitched my book to a trusted circle of friends to see if they'd be open to being beta readers, and they happily obliged! I now have a solid group ready to dive in once these finalized edits are complete. While I’ll still be looking for a few more readers down the road, I am so thankful and blessed to have them volunteer their time and honest feedback.

Second, I just updated the website with a new navigation page called "World & Lore." I figured this space will come in handy as I start sharing details about the characters and their universe. The very first entry covers the concept of time and the calendar system, which differs from Earth time. I’ll eventually dedicate a full blog post to breaking down the calendar in detail, but the info on the new page covers the essentials for now!
